Full description

MANFRED JÜRSCHIK* (born 1938 in Fulpmes)

Abstract composition, 2016
mixed media/cork 61,4 x 51 cm
signed Juri, dated 2016
collection Chrastek

SCHÄTZPREIS / ESTIMATE °€ 400 - 800
STARTPREIS / STARTING PRICE °€ 400

After attending primary and secondary school, Manfred Jürschik completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician in Reutte from 1953 to 1957. This was followed by stays in Lucerne and Zurich as well as in Paris, where he attended life drawing courses. He practiced his trained profession as a laboratory assistant at the Stollack company from 1959 to 1964. The creative, artistic environment of his family and his great interest in the art scene led Manfred Jürschik to open an antique shop and a gallery on Webgasse in Vienna. There he organized, among other things: an exhibition with the wood carver David Moroder. In 1975 he also completed his external school leaving certificate in Vienna. During his time as a gallery owner, Manfred Jürschik autodidactically learned the craft of painting restorer and worked in his new calling until his retirement. During this time he was increasingly perceived as an artist. He attended courses with Gerda Matejka-Felden, a professor at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. While in his artistic beginnings in the 1950s and 1960s he was mainly concerned with material experiments, from 2010 he devoted himself to abstract painting. His interest in the humanities, Eastern wisdom teachings and meditation as well as his intensive preoccupation with astrology, especially the Munich rhythm theory, flow into his work cycles. Numerous travels offered Jürschik inspiration for his artistic work.
PLEASE NOTE:
The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights. In the case of normal taxation (marked ° at the estimate), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium. This amounts to 13% for paintings, drawings, graphic works and sculptures and 20% for photographs and all other items.
The buyer's premium amounts to 28% in case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
